We are seeking an
Electrical Control Panel Builder
to join the
Indianapolis, IN
team. This role involves assembling and wiring electrical panels that contain components such as circuit breakers, relays, and controllers to manage power distribution and automation systems. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics to ensure precise layout and functionality. The position also requires testing and troubleshooting panels to verify performance and compliance with safety standards.
Job Responsibilities
Interpret electrical schematics and P&IDs to fabricate, mount, wire, and test industrial control panels.
Perform control panel testing using digital process meters (e.g., Fluke) to simulate analog and discrete signals; 4-20 mA and 0-10 V.
Support shop operations, including inventory management, material requests, scheduling, shipping/receiving, and maintenance of tools.
Collaborate with clients and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during fabrication.
Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills in electrical and instrumentation work, while adapting to changing priorities and project requirements.
Demonstrate resilience under pressure, accountability within a team environment, and a results-driven, self-motivated approach.
Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and presentation), strong organizational abilities, and proficiency with computer systems.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; Electrical Technician Certification or an equivalent credential preferred
Minimum 3 years' experience building and assembling electrical control panels.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics for systems operating at 24 VDC, 120 VAC, and 480 VAC.
Working knowledge of PLC systems & platforms; Allen Bradley, Siemens, Rockwell, or Schnider.
