Summary: The EHS/FM Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating, and maintaining the Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and policies in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. The EHS/FM Manager will also oversee machine maintenance and facilities to meet safety regulations and coordinate renovations/updates aimed at long-term preservation and preventative maintenance.

Primary duties will include ensuring compliance, overseeing worker safety training programs, investigating and recommending courses of action for on-the-job accidents, analyzing potential worker safety risks, implementing measures to mitigate safety risks, and facilitating required government safety inspections. Requirements:

  • This role typically works during regular business hours but is expected to be on-call in the event of a safety emergency on-site
  • Maintain a high level of internal control over environmental and safety processes and implements controls to manage business risks consistent with the company\'s expectations
  • This involves continuous compliance, auditing, and certification of the environmental, health, and safety processes to ensure they meet expectations and local, state, and federal regulatory requirements
  • Develop written safety/environmental policies that comply with government guidelines, regulations, and laws
  • Complete, submit, and maintain records of all required environmental reporting
  • Identify Company safety training needs and develop/coordinate/deliver/document safety and environmental training for new hires and employees
  • Oversee plant safety inspections and advise proper corrective action
  • Interface with officials/auditors from regulatory agencies, consultants, and other contractors
  • Review injury/illness and non-injury incident investigation reports to determine causal factors and take appropriate action as necessary to resolve possible problems
  • Develop, implement, and maintain all written EH&S programs and policies in accordance with OSHA, Cal OSHA, USEPA and/or corporate standards and in compliance with applicable laws
  • Comply with all environmentally safe practices and regulations
  • Understand Federal and State (California) occupational safety, health, and environmental regulations and monitor regulatory changes as they occur
  • Advise manufacturing plants and corporate staff of regulatory changes to ensure timely compliance
  • Responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing a company\'s workers\' compensation program
  • Implement all matters of the program, including claim investigations, settlements, and litigation
  • Establish standards and procedures for all matters relating to workers\' compensation.
  • Supervise employees who maintain and repair facilities\' infrastructure systems and equipment.
  • Delegate and prioritize maintenance tasks to team members, including administration of CMMS and ticketing systems.
  • Hire, manage, motivate, train, and evaluate facilities and maintenance staff.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on all machines and coordinate repairs as needed.
  • Create reports on maintenance, repairs, safety, and other occurrences for leadership staff
Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of Federal and California State safety and industrial hygiene compliance regulations
  • Strong leadership skills and experience influencing employees of all levels in a manufacturing environment
  • Must possess excellent problem-solving, organizational, and verbal & written communication skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Solid overall business acumen and a strong mindset for continuous improvement
  • Attention to detail and an attitude of 100% compliance with all company and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects

  • Thorough knowledge of oil and chemical labeling and storage requirements
  • Ability to develop, maintain, and manage a workers\' compensation program, including claim investigations, settlements, and litigation
  • Ability to establish standards and procedures for all matters relating to workers\' compensation
  • S. or B.A. Degree (preferably in a related, technical discipline.)
  • 5 + years of related experience (preferably in aerospace and manufacturing environments.)
  • Advanced use of MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook; other productivity tools
