Job Description


Responsible for developing and maintaining BCBSM?s enterprise innovation agenda, prioritizing enterprise-wide initiatives and leading cross-functional mission teams to define, design and develop strategic partnerships and pilots. Establish and refine processes to efficiently drive concepts from strategy to activation and proven methods to assess and harness external partnerships.

  • Responsible for establishing a comprehensive methodology to encourage the development and approval of business ideas, concepts, business cases, and launches that are connected to the long-term enterprise strategy and near-term strategic plans of BCBSM.
  • Direct the collection, analysis, and interpretation of information to further define the strategic approach and influence the prioritization of enterprise initiatives.
  • Lead the process to codify decisions and develop relationships with external partners and related external partner intelligence.
  • Manage identified initiatives through the pilot phase and handoff to the business. Effectuate the initiatives in a lean and agile manner, manage and resolve any internal hurdles while bringing a diverse set of perspectives into the decision-making process.
  • Lead a focused mission team in partnership with our business stakeholders and executive leadership. Foster collaborative and supportive cross-functional working relationships and share opportunities, progress, and challenges with immediate leadership, key stakeholders and senior executive management team.
  • Develop an ongoing understanding of innovations and innovative entities in the market and work with leadership to codify learnings, disseminate market information and harness innovations to advance BCBSM enterprise innovation agenda.
  • Lead forums and facilitate coordination of innovation activities across the enterprise on an ongoing basis.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master?s degree in Business or related field required.
  • Nine years of experience in business consulting, corporate development, branding or innovation required including experience developing new products, services, and solutions to business problems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of corporate short term and long-term strategies.
  • Ability to anticipate scenarios and develop strategy initiatives connected to the corporate strategy while remaining open minded to alternatives.
  • Expert oral and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to deliver complex information in clear, concise, and relevant manner.
  • Expert problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong strategic orientation with ability to develop plans and deliver expected results.
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity, act independently, and respond to highly ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to assess business outcomes and risks to determine an appropriate course of action.
  • Ability to credibly consult with executive and line leadership as well as leadership within external partners.
  • Ability to lead others and manage their performance.
