The Role
The Director Sales 1 - UC&C- CCS Retain & Grow (R&G) Strategic Sales and Support Leader is accountable for the overall customer retention, revenue growth, customer satisfaction, profitability, and churn reduction across Lumen\'s Unified Communications and Contact Center Solutions (CCS) portfolio, in support of the Enterprise Business Unit and its customers. This role establishes go-to-market plans for UC&C and Contact Center base revenue management which include revenue forecasts, customer support and growth strategies, and retention plans. The role aligns the UC&C and Contact Center R &G teams to the UC&C/CCS and BU sales teams to meet revenue forecasts and is 100% accountable for meeting revenue/plan goals as defined by management and overarching Lumen sales goals. This person manages and leads teams focused on successfully keeping existing customers while also identifying opportunities to expand Lumen\'s UC&C products and services within that customer group to grow the overall Enterprise business. This person is responsible for achieving sales and revenue plan goals, while concurrently achieving requisite margin targets associated with those sales goals. This person must manage and oversee UCC-CCS R&G team\'s development, performance, costs, required investments all with an ultimate focus on maintaining a profitable customer revenue base.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Create and implement a comprehensive one and two-year Go to Market Customer & Revenue management Plan for UC&C (R&G) & Contact Center Solutions (R&G)
  • Drive business with clear management routines, solution selling methodology, and complex team selling
  • Manages the structure, vision, and organization of UC&C- Contact Center R&G department to ensure the effective fulfillment of revenue objectives with the infrastructure necessary to support growth.
  • Assist team members with the deployment, onboarding, and migration to newly sold solutions, as required
  • Assist team members with the resolution of high severity problems, as required.
  • Maintain the existing customer base by developing new account strategies, and establishing, and maintaining strong relationships with all customers.
  • Provide direct leadership to Company\'s UC&C R&G sales team comprised of field sales, regionally based, and business development team.
  • Leverage data and analytics to drive insights. Modify or redirect business intelligence strategy
  • Stimulate a productive and motivating work environment within the organization that drives excellent performance.
  • Responsible for account strategy and management
  • Make decisions and provide direction to sales support/marketing staff members in activities that support sales promotion, product launches, and sales training.
  • Ensure that UC&C and Contact Center R&G team and internal management are up to date on industry, competitor, and product marketplace knowledge.
  • Achieve budgeted revenue and gross margin goals for the business while operating within policies/procedures and assigned expense budgets.
  • Manage compensation, and incentives for sales, and account management.
  • Partner closely with all other senior functional executives to form a strong, mutually supportive, and effective business team including direct account teams and customer success

What We Look For in a Candidate
  • 5+ years of experience in selling unified communications and collaboration (UCC) and Contact Center solutions to small businesses with desire and aptitude to learn and assist customers on their journey.
  • 2 years previous Manager level leadership experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in applying consultative selling techniques to opportunities.
  • Proven and verifiable track record in exceeding sales quotas.
  • Strong communication skills and presence in communicating with Executives.
  • Technical sales certifications (VCP, Cisco, etc.)
  • Consultative or solutions selling training (Miller Heiman, Sandler, etc.)
  • Demonstrated level of success in the development of high level client relationships
  • Demonstrated experience selling a combination of the following strongly preferred: Cloud Computing Services, Managed Hosting, Managed Security, Cloud Solutions (IaaS), Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery, IT Infrastructure Services/Outsourcing, IT Consulting, Outsourcing services, Co-location
  • Must be self motivated and self disciplined and provide prompt follow-up to all customer inquiries.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to present in both small and large group settings.
  • Must have a polished, professional presentation.
  • Must be able to keep organized, accurate records on daily activities and results.
  • Strong organizational skills imperative.
  • Acquire and integrate industry knowledge related to general trends, emerging technologies, and competitors.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
