About the position:

The Digital Marketing Manager, Direct Response is responsible for managing the digital marketing fundraising program, including email and paid digital media (search, social, display, streaming, etc.) The Direct Response and Integrated Marketing team within Americares is projected to raise an approximate $18M in FY23 from a diverse individual donor base across 60+ annual campaigns spanning offline and online channels.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Direct Response, this position will supervise and manage third party vendor relationships, working collaboratively with key internal stakeholders to set program strategies, develop winning tactics, execute campaigns, and conduct regular program analysis to optimize results.

Key Outcomes:

In the first 90 days, the Digital Marketing Manager would be independently overseeing the digital fundraising program execution, reviewing campaigns, seeking out input/approval from supervisor and key stakeholders, and providing direction to agency.

In the first 6 months, the Digital Marketing Manager would be able to (1) offer feedback (with rationale) on campaign strategy, lead analysis to optimize results, and make insightful recommendations on the future of the program (2) demonstrate proficiency in donation page platform (Classy) and email platform (Sales Force Marketing Cloud).

In the first year, this person would play a critical role in driving Americares\' digital marketing program strategy and establishing marketing automation best practices (utilizing Sales Force Marketing Cloud) to grow donor file and maximize revenue to Americares.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Program Management

  • Manage creative and technical implementation of robust schedule of email marketing and paid digital advertising campaigns and meet key dates for deliverables across Direct Response and Integrated Marketing
  • Review and edit campaign copy to align with fundraising best practices and Americares messaging guidelines.
  • Coordinate with agencies and internal stakeholders to write creative briefs which set strategies to achieve campaign goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with internal web team on donation page optimization, homepage banners and other website content to drive revenue and donor acquisition
  • Drive content/story sharing across departments and obtain requirements from vendors
  • Review materials including but not limited to verifying production specs, proofreading copy for accuracy, and checking photo releases
  • Track expense across campaigns and channels with an eye for efficiency
Project Management and Data Systems
  • Route campaigns for internal approval, relaying feedback to agency
  • Establish and maintain email marketing calendar for use across multiple departments
  • Monitor email trends to maintain pristine deliverability scores and domain reputations for all email programs
  • Coordinate with Donor Relations and Database Manager ensure accurate data syncs between Sales Force Marketing Cloud and CRM (donor database)
  • Become knowledgeable user of donation page platform (Classy) and email platform (Sales Force Marketing Cloud), serving as subject matter expert to Development team
Budgeting, Reporting and Analytics
  • Maintain weekly reporting mechanisms to track campaign and program KPI\'s and monitor expense and revenue, regularly reporting out to supervisor
  • Conduct campaign closeouts by reporting out final metrics across Development including test results, key lessons learned and takeaways
  • Coordinate with agency to establish regular cadence of quarterly (or other frequency) results review/future planning sessions
Administration
  • Review and approve vendor invoices, elevating to supervisor as necessary
  • Manage weekly status meetings with agency and key internal stakeholders
  • Attend cross-department meetings to ensure cross-collaboration on fundraising campaigns and sync deadlines
  • Capture meetings notes and follow up on action times
  • File key documents in SharePoint location to maintain accurate and thorough program documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

  • You have exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • You have 1-3 years of experience in digital marketing and/or fundraising
  • You have knowledge of best practices for email design and messaging
  • You understand the principles of direct response fundraising or are willing to learn
  • You have advanced organizational skills as evidenced by clear filing systems of relevant work documents, creation of schedules and project status reports, meeting deadlines and managing many competing priorities
  • You have strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects involving various stakeholders from beginning to end
  • You are an analytical thinker and problem solver with the ability to interpret data and make recommendations
  • You have experience with Sales Force Marketing Cloud or other email/digital marketing platforms
  • You have training in Google Analytics (preferred, but not required)
  • You have familiarity with Basecamp or other project management tools (preferred, but not required)
  • You have US work authorization (required)
