Job Description


Overview:
AIR is currently seeking a Digital Communications Specialist to join the Youth, Family, & Community Development program/Public Health group and work with us to foster equitable pathways for youth, families, and communities to thrive through cross-sector collaboration with programs, providers, and systems. The ideal candidate will translate research into digital communication strategies that affect change for our clients. They will have strong project management skills and be a detail-oriented, proactive team player. They will own key project tasks and work with multi-disciplinary staff on the prioritization, coordination, completion, and delivery of key project deliverables.


This position has the flexibility to be remote from anywhere in the United States or work from one of our U.S. office locations.

The responsibilities for the position include:

  • Assist in the development of proposals including strategy, solutions, and budgets
  • Provide strategic communications support for public health-focused projects
  • Develop high-quality, research-informed communication plans
  • Develop and implement tailored content and engagement plans for digital channels
  • Compile and analyze metrics on digital communications efforts; identify and propose effective metrics on outreach/communication initiatives and partner with clients to test new approaches for improved engagement
  • Lead the production of accessible, digital-first content, including promotional graphics, digital signage, social media shareables, and videos
  • Ensure program deadlines are met while handling multiple projects
Qualifications: Education, Knowledge, and Experience:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimal 6 years of experience in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or relevant field or master\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimal 4 years of experience in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or relevant field
  • Experience supporting external clients, managing small teams, government contracting and working in a shared service model
  • Experience with business development strategy and proposal development
  • Experience developing and implementing communication plans
  • Experience with researching and successfully implementing new digital strategies
  • Experience developing creative products (e.g., gifs, video) using digital-first, accessible design
Skills:
  • Skilled in project management, including developing and adapting implementation plans; managing teams, budgets, project compliance and reporting
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • An effective communicator, including skills in copywriting and editing, plain language, and proposal writing
  • Highly familiar with tools for analyzing social media outreach to inform data-driven improvements of digital strategies
  • Interest in learning and using a variety of communication-focused, accessible technologies
Disclosures:
AIR requires all new hires to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or receive a legally required exemption from AIR, as a condition of employment. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for this position. Depending on project work, qualified candidates may need to meet certain residency requirements.

AIR\xe2\x80\x99s Total Rewards Program, is designed to reward our staff competitively and motivate them to achieve our critical mission. This position offers an anticipated annual salary of $90,000 to $110,000. Salary offers are made based on internal equity within the institution and external equity with competitive markets. Please note this is the annual salary range for candidates that are based in the United States.
