Our client located in Providence, RI is looking for a Desktop Support Technician to join their team. The Desktop Support Technician will need to have strong customer skills and have the ability to work independently and be a resourceful, team-oriented collaborator. It will also require a person who quickly adapts to unfamiliar technologies and situations to provide solutions that align with business needs and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Workstation and laptop troubleshooting, replacing monitors, RAM, hard drives, batteries etc.
  • Installing printers and connecting all peripheral devices including but not limited to docking stations, LCDs, signature pads, webcams and multiple monitors.
  • Configuring network printer\\scanner to scan documents to email and shared network folders.
  • Troubleshoot LAN, wireless network connectivity.
  • McAfee software encryption, preferably with working knowledge of ePolicy Orchestrator Management application.
  • Create and run scripts to connect users to shared folders and network resources.
  • Coordinate with Vendors to provide necessary client support for RIDOH program applications.
  • Migrate user files to OneDrive and SharePoint sites.
Required
  • 2 or more years\' supporting a Windows 10 operating system environment
  • 2 or more years providing end-user support; in person, by phone, or remotely.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and configure all necessary desktop applications including Microsoft O365 and collaboration tools.
  • Specific focus with Outlook resource accounts and shared mailboxes, MS OneDrive, SharePoint and TEAMS.
  • Experience with TEAMS and ZOOM video conferencing applications.
  • Experience with ODBC connections to SQL databases, sftp connections and applications, Multi-Factor Authentication apps including DUO mobile and MS Authenticator.
  • Experience with installing OS by network PXE boot process
  • Experience with Active Directory (AD) User account creation, AD Group memberships, password changes.
  • Understand the concepts of Login Scripts, File rights, group policies.
  • The ability to add and remove workstations to the AD Domain.
  • Knowledge of SCCM utility.
