Overview
Provides support to the leadership team for budgeting, data extraction, analysis and reporting, financial and product line reporting.
Responsibilities
  • Supports department projects by extracting, manipulating, analyzing, and reporting data from any of the reporting systems used within D-H, including PeopleSoft, EPSi, BRIO, OPTIME and Enterprise Data Warehouse.
  • Leads efforts related to data analysis/collection/measurement for quality, process improvement and operations-based data activities.
  • Consults with leaders to understand report requests; formulates extraction requirements; validates, reconciles and analyzes data for accuracy, and provides data to leadership in an appropriate presentation format.
  • Compiles data and reports key performance measures (i.e., OR volume analysis, cases per day, add-ons per day, case grade performance, OR room turnover average, block utilization, OR case length accuracy, 1st case on-time starts, PACU patient census, and patient quality & safety never events).
  • Oversees the processes for data collection throughout various areas of the department and recommends enhanced processes as needed. Develops methods for consistency and validity checking of reports to assure accurate and meaningful results.
  • Creates custom and ad hoc reports, performs analyses and provides reporting to management.
  • Recommends software and system needs that will result in improved data collection and analysis.
  • Assists in the creation and maintenance of budgetary, statistical, and other financial reporting records. Compiles and validates data for leadership review and follows up on errors.
  • Updates existing templates of financial and data report packages for presentation on a monthly basis
  • Plays an active role in project conceptualization, design, data extraction and integration related to reporting requirements.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications
  • Associate\'s degree in Finance, Business Management, Accounting or a related field, or the equivalent in education and experience.
  • Two (2) years of data analysis experience required.
  • Must possess a high level of computer literacy and demonstrated knowledge and expertise in using tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and database query tools including Epic, Enterprise Data Warehouse reporting systems including EPSi, BRIO, WebI and OPTIME required. Facility with advanced Excel formulas, functions and charting.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously required.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and organizational skills required.
  • Ability to interact at all levels of the organization and strong operational and analytic problem solving skills preferred.
