The Opportunity:

Under the direction of the Manager of Reporting, the Reporting Specialist will play an essential role in the review and recommendation of best practices within the revenue cycle operations as the first line of defense to operational excellence.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the completion of revenue cycle award applications in collaboration with operational and client delivery partners
  • Partner with organizational finance and business intelligence teams to validate data
  • Develop and present executive reports and slide decks to operational and client delivery partners
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) relating to revenue cycle industry best practice (HFMA, HBI, NAHAM, etc.)
  • Produce and analyze reports on a consistent basis (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly). Will also find ways to optimize report functionality and readability for operational and client delivery partners
  • Evaluate internal key performance indicators against industry best practice standards.
  • Coordinate with service line leaders to identify areas of risk and assist Centralized Operational Excellence leadership in developing strategies for improvement.
  • Provide continuous monitoring of key performance indicators and plans of action. Strategically redirect operational and client delivery teams when plans of action are not creating change in performance or yielding the desired outcomes.
  • Prepare and present performance reports and recommendations to direct leadership for review and approval.
  • Participate in pre- & post-review meetings, providing support and recommendations for issues presented.
  • Maintain current knowledge of laws/regulations regarding medical necessity, clinical documentation, compliance standards, reviewing, and other general clinical and business matters.
  • Maintain current knowledge of revenue cycle performance best practices and maintain knowledge of industry best practice of key performance indicators


Requirements:
  • 3-5 years previous experience in similar role
  • CRCR or CSBI Certification, or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire
