Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Data Analyst.

The newly created position is needed to acquire, store, analyze and communicate clinical-based data. Service Plan by providing local data for needs assessments and program development.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of publications, reports and presentations
  • Create descriptive data summaries including visualizations and written descriptions of data findings for a wide range of audiences
  • Provide technical assistance to analysts and researchers in accessing and analyzing datasets, as needed.
Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:
Design and conduct analyses pertaining to data acquired through various data sources
Plan and implement data quality assurance plans and data checking and work with investigators and others to address all identified issues.
Work with staff and others to facilitate automation of standard, recurrent data acquisition, management, analysis and reporting
Understand and follow all data security requirements
Create and maintain data dictionaries and other metadata resources to share with other analysts and researchers
Work with team to process and clean datasets acquired from public and private sources.
Acquire data from publicly available sources and work with team to store data on central resource repository

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor\'s degree in public health; health care administration; or similar field. In-depth knowledge of best practices in data management; research methods; epidemiologic study design; quality performance measurement; quality improvement. Proven experience with statistical software programs such as SAS, Stata and/or R. Proven ability to design complex data management and analysis projects, working with professionals with a variety of skills and backgrounds.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including technical documentation and data summarization. Works well with other team members.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master\'s degree in pertinent field (clinical informatics; information management, biostatistics, epidemiology, public health, health care administration or similar field). Experience with Hadoop and/or SQL are preferred. Skills and Specifications: Familiarity with clinical information, including diagnostic coding and clinical databases. Knowledge of principles and methods of biostatistics; principles, theories, and procedures of epidemiology, including study design, statistical analysis, and causal inference. Knowledge of current research and trends in public health; appropriate computer processing methods used to generate, organize and display statistical and research data; and standard English grammar, spelling, and usage. Ability to apply mathematical formulas and make calculations. Ability to gather, organize, analyze, and report findings from analyses. Problem-solving skills. Planning/organizational skills. Personal motivation. Knowledge of Chinese or Spanish preferred

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $63,935 \xe2\x80\x93 $74,984.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
