Primary Functions:

Reporting to the Clinical Manager, the clinical data analyst will perform the duties as described below.

Duties of this Position include but are not limited to:
  • Works under the guidance of the Clinical Manager, CQI Coordinator, and Multnomah County EMS Medical Director.
  • Reviews project requests describing clinical database user needs.
  • Attends specification meetings with Clinical and Educational Services (CES) team members and the Multnomah County EMS Medical Director to determine scope and limitations of projects.
  • Works closely with front-end users to ensure program usability, recognize data collection issues, and recommend solutions
  • Works closely with users in different agencies and departments, and with differing technical backgrounds to develop ad hoc reports based on user specifications.
  • Designs, tests, and implements reporting processes for Operations Manager, CES team, Medical Director, and other data users.
  • Troubleshoots and improves existing reports and reporting logic to meet clinical data user needs.
  • Develops data models describing data elements and how they are used.
  • Designs, executes, and interprets the results of custom T- SQL queries linking multiple databases.
  • Contributes to planning of system operations. Design data collection instruments for focused investigations and audits.
  • Creates and revises descriptions to enable programmer to understand how programs should access data. Works closely with programmers to improve reporting methods, troubleshoot reporting tools, and determine new methods to best satisfy data user requests.
  • Writes descriptions of how users access data and request reports and output from the clinical database.
  • Participates in AMR and EMS agency mandated meetings pertaining to clinical data collection or reporting.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned


Education/Licensing/Certification:
  • Bachelor\'s degree preferred.
  • Experience in health sciences, information systems, statistics, or mathematics is desirable.


Minimum Requirements:

Experience:
  • 2-4 years of experience in data analysis.
  • Minimum of 2 years\' experience with SQL coding and development of complex reports

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Heavy knowledge of SQL is an essential required element of this job-MUST be able to author SQL queries and decode/alter existing SQL queries
  • Previous experience using Microsoft SQL reporting services or authoring unique reports with Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Visual Studio and/or SQL Reporting Services
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word.
  • Experience in analytical problem solving (including statement of problem, identification and collection of pertinent data, analysis, recommendation, and re-evaluation) strongly preferred.
  • Healthcare experience and/or knowledge of medical terminology or Emergency Medical Services preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem resolution skills required.
  • Must have strong organizational skills with experience in managing multiple priorities, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines.
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

This is NOT a remote position. Office located in our Multnomah Operations building in SE Portland.
