Job Summary As a 1st shift Sewing Machine Operator you will be trained on various industrial sewing machines to perform equipment configuration, machine loading and operation, and become skilled at optimizing the machine capability. With an attention to detail, you will follow work instructions and blueprints, execute precision measuring, and check final protective fabric safety product for specification and quality standards. Grow in this fast-paced position by gaining knowledge, skills and proficiency on each machine in the line for an increase in job level, responsibilities and pay. Schedule / Pay / Work Environment
Flexible schedule and training
Standard: 40 hours in 4 days (10-hour shifts)
6:00am - 4:30pm (open to adjusting days/work hours, must be 40hrs/week)
Monday \xe2\x80\x93 Thursday
Weekends - voluntary overtime
Starting range based on experience
$18.00 - $20.00/hour
Overtime pay and hours are available but NOT mandatory!
Physical Aptitude
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Agility for frequent bending and reaching.
Strength to occasionally lift 35lbs
Visual acuity with the ability to differentiate colors.
Strong degree of hand-eye coordination.
Duties and Responsibilities
Load and operate large industrial sewing machines to meet work orders and deadlines.
Follow procedures and guidelines to prepare and inspect the equipment including,
grommet, press, snap, cutting and sewing machines, supporting a smooth operation.
Verify industrial fabric and material setups are correct while adhering to product quality
standard.
Read and follow work instructions and blueprints ensuring quality and accuracy of
production meets the set standard.
Oversee machines, equipment and moving pieces during the production process; execute problem-solving for abnormalities or malfunctions.
Communicate quality issues identified during the safety fabric sewing or assembly
process.
Commitment to meet personal and equipment safety and health regulations.
