Credit & Collections Specialist Position Summary

The Accounts Receivable and Collections Specialist applies cash received to customer account, sends customer statements, reviews the accounts receivable aging and follows-up on the collection of past due invoices, and provides reports and analysis to Finance management.

Credit & Collections Specialist Key Responsibilities or Essential Functions

  • Set-up new customers in ERP and ensure all required support and information is received and validated
  • Apply bank account payments to specific customer accounts in the AR detail and follows-up with customer to research unapplied payments
  • Send customer account statements on a regular basis to remind them of balances outstanding
  • Review accounts receivable aging and contacts customer\xe2\x80\x99s when invoices are past due in accordance with Company policy
  • Reach out to customers by email and telephone to pursue payment on delinquent accounts
  • Follow established guidelines to review and update account status
  • Meet collection goals to clean up aged customer accounts
Credit & Collections Specialist Preferred/Required Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least two years of related experience in collections preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Credit & Collections Specialist Required Skills/Abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with customers and internal resources in a courteous manner
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
