Position Description

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Curating the center\'s digital presences: Maintains a content calendar for the center\'s digital channels, translates and distills in-person and online presentations into resource-library content for the center\'s website, liaises with health communication experts to proof resource-library content, ensures the center\'s website provides up-to-date information about events and other programs, and researches and drafts content for the center\'s social accounts.
  • Managing event logistics: Assists with booking speakers and contractual details, identifies and books appropriate space, plans and places catering orders, publicizes events to ensure widest possible engagement, manages event registration, creates leave-behinds for participants, and provides logistical support for virtual and in-person events, including conferences, seminars, workshops, and socials.
  • Publishing the center\'s communication best-practices newsletter, Call to Action: Drafts content, copyedits guest-written content, proofs and distributes each month\'s issue, maintains subscription form and subscriber database, looks for opportunities to grow its subscriber base within and beyond the Harvard community, and serves as point of contact for all newsletter questions.
  • Tracking use of center programs and services: Reports, analyzes, and presents data about engagement with the center\'s digital channels, events, and newsletter. Works in collaboration with center director to evaluate the impact of center programs and identify areas for growth.
  • Supporting center operations: Prepares and maintains center records; manages travel arrangements; negotiates with hotels, caterers, and vendors; submits invoices, drafts contracts, works with departmental administrators on contractual, operational details, and financial procedures.
  • Performing other duties as required.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a hybrid position and this position will be based in Boston, MA. Additional detail pertaining to this position will be discussed during the interview process. All remote work must be performed in a state in which Harvard is registered to do business (Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, California (exempt staff only), Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, Virginia, and Washington). This position may require occasional night or weekend work.

Harvard T.H Chan School of Public Health\'s Center for Health Communication equips public health leaders to credibly communicate health information to an increasingly skeptical and fragmented world. Our mission: to define, teach, and share best practice in health and science communication.

We\'re looking for a Program Coordinator who will help us meet that mission. Key responsibilities include managing our virtual and in-person events, publishing and growing our newsletter, curating our digital presences, and tracking engagement with our programs and services.
