Robert Half is searching for an ambitious Controller eager to join the team at a reputable Manufacturing company. This leadership role oversees an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. The permanent Controller position is situated in the Florence, Kentucky area.

How you will make an impact

- Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

- Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

- Comfortable in taking on tasks beyond formal job responsibilities

- Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports

- Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

- Reviews deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations

- Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

- Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis

- Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required

- Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective

- Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

Requirements

- Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

- Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

- BA/BS in Accounting

- Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required

- Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Manufacturing Cost Accounting experience required

- GAAP Accounting experience preferred
