Commercial Banking\'s (CB) Commercial and Industrial (C&I) businesses primarily include Middle Market Banking and Corporate Client Banking. These businesses provide lending, payments, investment banking, and asset management products to corporate, local governments, and nonprofit clients.

In this role, you will be responsible for the reporting and control oversight of the financial information related to the Commercial & Industrial businesses for lending products and associated allowance for credit losses.

Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the businesses, stakeholders, risk, and others in Finance and Business Management to provide business advisory and accounting support
  • Maintain books and records that reflect material integrity (timely, accurate, and complete) in compliance with accounting standards, corporate accounting policies, legal entity control standards, regulatory requirements and other applicable Firm standards
  • Ensure transactions are seamlessly executed, properly recorded and reported appropriately
  • Month-end close - ensuring accurate and complete close-out of books and records for the month and resolution of any discrepancies in the results
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of CB\'s lending product offerings, explaining key drivers impacting the balance sheet and income statement and providing insightful analysis to facilitate effective and focused management of the business
  • Partner with loan operations and credit risk on transactions
  • Provide product control oversight, ensuring clear accountability and handoffs
  • Create senior executive level presentation materials
  • Continuously improve the way we do business through review of current practices/processes, identifying deficiencies and/or weaknesses, and delivering solutions to enhance the current control framework of the business, particularly through innovation employing intelligent solutions (such as Alteryx)

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting
  • CPA or equivalent professional credential; or working towards
  • Minimum of 6 years of accounting, finance, and/or audit experience
  • Ability to partner effectively across multiple workstreams with complex interdependencies and stakeholders of varying seniority
  • Flexibility to meet changing work requirements and strict deadlines, including working certain weekends during quarter-end close
  • Strong collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Experience working with large data sets

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
  • Previous role at a large public accounting firm, financial institution, and/or controller experience preferred
  • Knowledge of GAAP rules preferred
