Our manufacturing client in the Cedar Falls, Iowa area is looking to hire a Controller. The Controller has primary ownership for the organization\xe2\x80\x99s accounting functions. The Controller is responsible for directing the fiscal functions and company performance. The Controller will be directly responsible for the accounting books, records and software systems of the organization. Responsibilities include maintaining the general ledger, oversight of accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll processing, financial and accounting internal controls. The Controller maintains both internal relationships with other leadership team members, and owners, as well as maintaining external relationships with banking partners, independent accountants, income tax preparers, and certain other support vendors.

Job Qualifications:

\xc2\xb7 Serve as a member of the leadership team and participate in key decisions pertaining to strategic initiatives, operating modes, and operational execution.

\xc2\xb7 Maintain day-to-day responsibility of all financial-related activities of the company, which includes accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, sales analysis, negotiations, and compliance.

\xc2\xb7 Provide management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.

\xc2\xb7 Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends to assist CEO / President and other management members in performing their responsibilities.

\xc2\xb7 Represent the company to financial partners, including financial institutions, executives, auditors, public officials, etc.

\xc2\xb7 Directly supervise the accounting function and provide direct oversight of all external vendors supporting finance, tax, audit, and payroll activities.

\xc2\xb7 Directly engage staff in developing a positive culture in the company and with client communities.

\xc2\xb7 Plan, implement, manage, and control all financial-related activities of the company to meet both short and long term strategic financial objectives.

\xc2\xb7 Set strategies and initiatives to improve the financial performance, both short and long term, for the company.

\xc2\xb7 Direct and implement strategic plans for accounting and financial activities.

\xc2\xb7 Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business activities.

\xc2\xb7 Oversee the management of short-term working capital and cash flow planning; ensure the availability of funds as needed.

\xc2\xb7 Oversee processing of accounts payable, collection of accounts receivable, month end / year end processing and completion of monthly bank reconciliations.

\xc2\xb7 Optimize the handling of credit card, bank, and cash deposit relationships and maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.

\xc2\xb7 Oversee/manage payroll processes and interact with benefits providers.

\xc2\xb7 Evaluate and advise on the financial impact of strategic plans, business development plans, and actions.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure credibility of finance/accounting department by providing timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial statements.

\xc2\xb7 Identify and resolve discrepancies within the financial results including inventory adjustments, cost of goods sold, production and overhead variances, etc.

\xc2\xb7 Develop, manage, and ensure accurate analysis and processes for financial forecasting, planning, budgets, and reporting to the company.

\xc2\xb7 Recommend, prepare, and manage financial and operating metrics.

\xc2\xb7 Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.

\xc2\xb7 Develop and prepare a system of management cost reports.

\xc2\xb7 Provide ad hoc financial analysis as needed, including, but not limited to, capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.

\xc2\xb7 Develops, implements and enforces a documented system of accounting policies and procedures, including effective check and balance internal controls.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable city, state, and federal regulatory laws for financial and tax reporting.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure timely filing of tax documents and returns.

\xc2\xb7 Coordinate provision of information to external auditors and ensure timely audits.

EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE REQUIRED:

\xc2\xb7 Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Accounting or Finance reqiured; MBA preferred.

\xc2\xb7 Successful completion of the Uniform Certified Public Accountants Exam, and active CPA license accreditation required.

\xc2\xb7 10 years of progressively responsible financial leadership in a manufacturing industry.

\xc2\xb7 Manufacturing industry experience required.

\xc2\xb7 Costing, sales tax, payroll tax experience.

\xc2\xb7 ERP experience, SAP, Oracle

\xc2\xb7 High level of integrity and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency and work ethic.

\xc2\xb7 Strong interpersonal skills: ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization.

\xc2\xb7 Strong problem solving and assessment skills; ability to exercise sound judgement, and ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.

\xc2\xb7 Results oriented; driven and engaged to develop, mentor, and manage accounting / finance personnel and functions.

\xc2\xb7 Must possess strong financial acumen, reading, writing, grammar, and mathematic skills.

\xc2\xb7 Must possess strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products, most notably Word, Excel, and Outlook (among others); deep knowledge of WorkWise ERP software would be very advantageous.
