This permanent position is for a Controller who will work in the Branchburg, New Jersey region. To succeed in this role, you will need to plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. Candidates who can effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo, will be preferred for this position. What you get to do every single day

- Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible

- Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

- Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports

- Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction

- Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis

- Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

- Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

- Occasionally perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities

- Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required

- Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

- Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management

Requirements

- Comprehensive knowledge of finance

- Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

- Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

- Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

- Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

- Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

- Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

- Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required

- Strong attention to detail

- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
