Role

The Content Marketing Director is a key strategic role shaping and driving AutoGrid\xe2\x80\x99s brand, go-to-market messaging, competitive positioning, sales enablement, and more. You will be a leader in shaping and crafting AutoGrid\xe2\x80\x99s message house, narrative, and content strategy \xe2\x80\x93 all on the front lines of climate action.

This role requires exceptional skills in collaborating with and leveraging stakeholders, vendors, customers, and partners to deliver exceptional content assets, plans, and strategy.. The Content Marketing Director reports directly to and works closely with the VP of Marketing & Communications.

The ideal candidate loves nothing more than landing a crisp, compelling, wickedly creative piece of content or extended campaign. You are a verbal and visual storytelling by nature, and you\xe2\x80\x99ve honed your skills to develop consistently persuasive, deeply engaging content in all forms (social, collateral, slideware, web, case studies, ebooks, white papers \xe2\x80\x93 and lots and lots of video). You are equally comfortable with scrappy DIY production and well-funded and -resourced projects.

You love technology (from feature & function to outcomes and broader impacts), persuasion (really landing the message), data (metrics tracking engagement and more) \xe2\x80\x93 and most of all, you love to win (competitive intelligence, commercial impact).

Responsibilities

  • Strategic planning. Working across the Marketing team and aligned stakeholders, you will develop content strategy, calendars, and execution roadmaps to support our brand messaging and nurture campaigns.
  • Writing and execution. You will be a hands-on creator across multiple formats.
  • Editing. design, and production. You will lead end-to-end content creation and oversee supporting resources (freelance, agency, etc.)
  • Media relations. You will support the VP of Marketing & Communications in working with AutoGrid\xe2\x80\x99s public relations agency on thought leadership, Tier 1, trade publications, events, and more. You will have a central role in crafting releases, pitch documents, and contributed articles.
  • Internal communications, culture, and employer brand. Working with internal stakeholders, HR, and other groups, you will take a leading role in shaping and communicating
  • Content evaluation, metrics, and reporting. You will work with the Marketing team to ensure that content investments are delivering impact.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing, or related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience at the senior manager level or above, working in B2B technology marketing, inclusive of direct responsibility for content creation and marketing strategy
  • Metrics-proven success with creation of content and content channel strategies.
  • Work experience in/knowledge of the energy sector and cleantech
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Talent for translating complex technology into compelling sales and marketing content
Bonus Points
  • MBA or masters in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field
  • Work experience at a utility, energy retailer, community choice aggregator, renewables development and operation, or related.
  • Work experience that incorporates two or more of the following: large matrixed organization, small start-up style environment, PR and/or marketing agencies
