ABOUT THE ROLE:
Chive Media Group is looking for a world-class Marketing Director to be in charge of leading the execution of our Marketing efforts at Chive Media Group. As a successful hire, you will be responsible for providing guidance to our Marketing department by evaluating and developing marketing strategies, planning and coordinating marketing efforts, communicating the marketing plans to all those involved, executing those plans, and building awareness and position for our brand.

A typical day for the Marketing Director would include working with the eCommerce team on upcoming campaigns and product launches, helping the Sales team craft pitches, listening to customer feedback from our Customer Success team, working with Project Venkman on the Bill Murray NFT Roadmap along with future campaigns, and collaborating with our Editors and Social team to build buzz-worthy traffic-building content.

This role is located at our Headquarters in Austin, TX (not remote)


JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Develop and implement strategies that grow our customer base and drive sales & traffic, leveraging customer data and insights to develop programs.
  • Direct effective and integrated marketing campaigns within the acquisition channel (Paid Search, Organic Search, Social, and Content Marketing) as well as within the retention channel (Email/SMS Marketing, Segmented Email/SMS campaigns, customer retargeting campaigns in both Email and display advertising, and integration of affinity and loyalty campaigns)
  • Lead and manage the development of annual and seasonal plans that support the successful achievement of programs and business goals.
  • Direct the customer contact strategy, executing timely and accurate deliveries of marketing strategies to achieve business goals.
  • Establish and implement best practices for database marketing processes, measurement, evaluation, data capture, maintenance, and customer/prospect list selection; track and communicate program results.
  • Develops executive summaries and presents recommendations of direct marketing programs.
  • Work closely with technology to develop and evaluate marketing technology capabilities and software products required to deliver strategic objectives.
  • Manage the PPC budget and work with our Digital Agency partner to achieve business goals.




EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field is preferred or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years Digital Marketing experience
  • 5+ years directing or managing/supervising experience
  • Heavy eCommerce Marketing and/or CRM experience, including Customer Loyalty programs, Digital Marketing programs, and Content-to-Commerce Marketing
  • Able to think through problems and provide solutions, sell cooperative solution agendas, and integrate internal/external efficiencies
  • Proven track record of success with metric-driven results, through cross-functional collaboration
  • Responsible for the development and execution of budget and timeline deliverables.
  • Analytical skills with an ability to clearly translate results into actionable insights.
  • eCommerce experience is highly preferred
  • Retail/wholesale merchandising experience is highly preferred
  • Bonus points for Crypto and NFT experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the proven ability to set and communicate team priorities

  • Ability to develop rapport and credibility with senior management and others across the organization
  • Stimulates new ideas and initiatives to resolve complex problems through encouraging others to challenge current approaches/methods
  • Recommends best practices and utilizes industry knowledge to improve products, processes and services
  • Proven ability to make business decisions that are consistent with the brand and company objectives
  • High level of planning and analytical skills to track performance using financial metrics with a strong aptitude in retail math and forecasting methodology
  • Exceptional organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize workload, and concurrently manage multiple projects
  • Contributes to the development of the functional strategy; executes business plan
  • Excellent PC/Mac skills including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
