Job Description


Leads all communications efforts, serving as a staff writer tasked with crafting messages for internal and external audiences and managing communications projects for the Office of Academic Affairs & Provost and its umbrella units. Works with subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop and implement training (in person and online) for all Office of Academic Affairs & Provost software platforms. Develops and implements multi-channel communication strategies aimed at faculty, staff, and students. Develops, writes, and implements content that includes long-form feature writing, web copy, advertising copy, and a wide variety of other project work across multiple channels for the Office of Academic Affairs & Provost. Creates and edits storytelling content for PR, marketing, and social media initiatives. Analyzes the performance of the Office of Academic Affairs & Provost\' marketing and identifies new opportunities and creating plans for improvement.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Outstanding written communication and editorial skills.
  • Knowledge of business marketing processes, digital marketing and supporting strategies.
  • Knowledge of best practices and pedagogy for training adult learners.
  • Proficiency in content management systems including WordPress, Drupal and Enterprise.
  • Proficiency in multimedia/creative tools such as Instructional Design software, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere, etc.) and Final Cut Pro.
  • Proficient computer skills with knowledge of applications applicable to the responsibilities of the position.
  • Strong presentation and meeting facilitation skills.
Required Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor\'s Degree and 3 years of relevant experience in training, marketing, communications, or other closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in communications and training in higher education.
  • 7+ years training and communication experience.
  • Working knowledge and proficiency in back-end and front-end web development technologies such as HTML5, XML, CSS3 and JavaScript, JQuery, PHP, ASP
