Primary Objective:
As part of the Communications & Public Affairs (C&PA) team, the Communications Specialist will develop and execute strategic internal communication plans and campaign proposals. (S)He/They will write, edit and publish communication content, and ensure our communication channels meet the needs of a variety of employee audience segments including people managers and non-wired employees. The role involves some proactive communication planning, with oversight from senior members of the C&PA Team, as well as plan execution, project leadership and a high level of coordination with other business units and functions.

A key communications partner and advisor, (S)He/they will work closely with the HR department to understand their specific programs and project communication needs and support their activities by creating, project managing and executing employee communications plans and campaigns.

The role sits with the Vantage Communications & Public Affairs team and reports to Vice President, Communications and Public Affairs. In addition to HR-specific support, this role will play an important role in leading and/or supporting a wide variety of internal and external communications tactics, tools and events.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • CONTENT CREATION: Develop, write, edit and deliver a wide range of creative internal communications materials in collaboration with Communications team members and other departments including leadership content, blog posts, talking points and FAQs, often on tight deadlines. Communications should be clear, concise, compelling and error-free and developed with an understanding of employee needs and company/culture tone of voice.
  • COMMUNICATIONS BUSINESS PARTNER: As a trusted counsel to HR, organize and transform HR concepts and information into easily digestible content for internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment to overarching Company messaging.
  • PROCESS DEVELOPMENT: Develop editorial strategy and content development process for proactive sharing of HR and organizational news and updates using a variety of delivery methods.
  • EVENT COORDINATION & MANAGEMENT: Manage event logistics for a wide variety of employee events including quarterly all hands Town Halls, location filming, site events and leadership forums.
  • COMMUNICATIONS CALENDAR: Manage a complex/dynamic calendar of HR communications needs and matrix of internal stakeholders across the HR organization. This will be done in partnership with the broader Communications function to ensure the content and cadence of HR communications aligns with the global Vantage calendar of activities and rhythms of the company.
  • PROOFREADER: Proofread and edit communications materials for grammar, clarity, style and tone, ensuring messages are consistent and are relevant to key audiences.
  • AD-HOC COMMUNICATIONS: Provide ad-hoc communications support for the organization as needed.
  • SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT: Measure the impact of employee communications in driving overall employee engagement and satisfaction. Gather and leverage critical insights and best practices, both internally and externally, to evolve employee communications strategies and improve both creativity and efficiency of content creation on behalf of the HR organization.
Skillset:
  • Minimum of four years supporting internal communications for a globally dispersed workforce. Experience working within HR and/or partnering with HR is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of key HR organizational roles, functions, and responsibilities within a large global company.
  • Well versed in measuring the impact of employee communications - and a passion for using insights to convey impact and inform future strategies.
  • Able to listen intently and ask clarifying questions to prompt more detailed information and uncover customer needs and expectations.
  • Passionate and excited about the intersection between HR and Corporate Communications, and excited to jump in each day to make meaningful contributions to our employees\' experience.
  • A skilled writer who can articulate complex ideas simply, creatively, and with heart.
  • Comfortable and effective in partnering with senior leaders and HR subject matter experts; able to confidently offer ideas and negotiate communication plans, both verbally and in writing.
  • Embrace ongoing change, pivot quickly, and effectively deliver against tight deadlines; demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and grace under pressure.
  • Enjoy both strategizing and "rolling up your sleeves" to execute plans.
  • Highly organized; able to effectively juggle multiple priorities simultaneously, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Highly collaborative, with excellent emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills - builds strong relationships easily with positive/can-do attitude.

  • A good sense of humor
  • Bilingual (Spanish) would be beneficial. Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in literature, journalism, marketing, communications, or similar preferred. Depth of experience may be substituted for formal or degree certification.
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in corporate communications or internal communications.
