The Wildfire Long-Term Recovery Team supports active recoveries across the Western United States as well as Hawaii. This position will provide direct support to the various programs within the Wildfire LTR program portfolio including Western Wildfires 2021, 2022 and Hawaii 2023.

The Program Manager, Wildfire LTR Communications is responsible for developing compelling and impactful communications materials that effectively convey key messages to various stakeholders. This position requires strong creative and writing skills, along with the ability to adapt communication styles for different audiences and platforms. This position will liaise directly with the Wildfire LTR Director, the respective Wildfire LTR teams, the Senior Program Manager for LTR Communications as well as Red Cross public affairs and Comms Directors within impacted/at-risk Regions and Divisions to develop standard and repeatable communication templates and tools. This role will develop communication strategies to improve our reach to the clients and communities we serve. The role plays a critical role in shaping the organization\'s internal and external understanding of the Red Cross role in long-term recovery, ensuring consistency, and driving engagement through clear and effective communication.

Content Development:

  • Create engaging and persuasive content for a variety of communication channels, including written materials, presentations, website content, social media posts, and emails.
  • Conduct research and gather information to generate accurate and compelling content.
  • Craft clear and concise messages that align with the Red Cross brand voice and objectives.
  • Adapt communication styles and tones to suit different audiences and platforms.
  • Collaborate with impacted communities, operational partners, and subject matter experts to translate complex information into accessible and engaging content.
Messaging and Storytelling:
  • Develop key messages that effectively communicate long-term recovery initiatives, projects, or programs.
  • Craft narratives and stories that resonate with target audiences and create an emotional connection.
  • Maintain consistent messaging across different communication materials and platforms.
  • Incorporate storytelling techniques to bring data, research, and impact stories to life.
  • Ensure messaging aligns with the organization\'s mission, values, and overall communication strategy.
Visual Communication:
  • Create visually appealing communication materials.
  • Incorporate visual elements, infographics, and multimedia content to enhance communication effectiveness.
  • Ensure visual consistency and adherence to brand guidelines in all communication materials.
  • Provide input and guidance on visual concepts to align with communication objectives.
Editing and Proofreading:
  • Review and edit communication materials for clarity, grammar, and consistency.
  • Ensure accuracy of information, including facts, figures, and references.
  • Proofread and revise written content to ensure error-free and polished communication.
  • Verify compliance with brand standards, style guides, and organizational guidelines.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accuracy and consistency of messaging.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Collaborate with internal teams and subject matter experts to gather input and insights for communication materials.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to understand their communication needs and objectives.
  • Seek feedback and incorporate suggestions to improve the effectiveness of communication materials.
  • Present communication concepts and materials to stakeholders for review and approval.
  • Address inquiries and concerns from stakeholders regarding communication materials.
Standard Schedule: This is a full-time, term-limited, work-from-home, benefits eligible position expected to last through August 2025 with the opportunity to extend based on business need.

PAY INFORMATION:

The salary range for this position is $84,880 \xe2\x80\x93 $90,185.

Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Communications, Marketing, English, public relations, journalism, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • Management experience: N/A
  • Proven experience in content creation, copywriting, or a similar role.
  • Experience working with diverse communities and familiarity with non-traditional media channels
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills.
  • Strong command of grammar, style, and proofreading.
  • Creativity and ability to think visually.
  • Familiarity with various communication channels and platforms.
  • Proficiency in digital content creation tools and software.
  • Knowledge of brand management and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
