The successful candidate, under general supervision, will plan, develop and implement a wide variety of communication strategies and work to deliver public information, promote utilization of Kent County services, and build positive relationships with community stakeholders.
Duties of this position include:
Assist in creating public awareness of Kent County and its mission, vision and role within the community.- Plan and create original online content for social media management, analytics and reporting.
- Write, design and develop content for multiple communication channels, including the County\'s website, e-newsletters, news releases, presentations, and more.
- Use e-mail subscription management system for communication to employees and other stakeholder groups.
- Support media relations efforts by fielding media calls and responding to requests and coordinating interviews as appropriate.
- Ensure brand standards to safeguard consistency across all communications and help educate teams on brand standards.
- Consult with County departments, offices and agencies to develop and execute plans to communicate information on County services, initiatives and programs.
- Coordinate special projects with varied stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field. Four years progressively responsible experience in creating and managing content and graphic design. Proficient skills in Microsoft Office, databases and social media content management systems. Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite products (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, InDesign) is a plus. Demonstrated experience in interpreting and applying social analytics. Excellent written and public speaking skills and strong interpersonal skills. In addition, the successful candidate must be ready to work in a fast-paced environment, have attention to detail, and meet deadlines. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
