Job Description


SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Communications Manager creates, implements, and oversees CTAC\xe2\x80\x99s internal and external communications and branding activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Trust\xe2\x80\x99s branding is maintained on all documents and external communications
  • Maintain the content of the Trust\xe2\x80\x99s website
  • Responsible for social media and assists in devising strategy for multiple platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube and others
  • Maintain and develop media contacts
  • Develop and distribute news releases
  • Develop flyers, brochures, or other communications
  • Compile information for news and events
  • Produce and distribute CTAC newsletter
  • Produce periodic communications to Trust stakeholders (i.e. providers, citizens, other gov\xe2\x80\x99t officials)
  • Support Trust staff in preparing for public presentations
  • Manage the Trust\xe2\x80\x99s communications platforms
  • Provide a comprehensive media relations program for the purpose of educating the public and maintaining a positive public image for CTAC.
  • Manage tracking, analysis and reporting on the effectiveness of communication activities and media relations results/reports
  • Create presentations, write speeches and develop talking points for CTAC leadership to support public affairs and strategic communication initiatives
  • Create, monitor, and respond to social media comments and messages
  • Monitor daily investigations and actions for situations likely to attract media attention
  • Write and distribute press releases, advisories, and announcements approved by Executive Director
  • Research, develop and disseminate electronic and printed publications, press releases, photographic materials, feature articles, videos, public service announcements, promotional materials, and other forms of communications to local media and the public to increase community awareness of CTAC activities, services, and programs.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of communications strategies and plans.
  • Provide training and guidance to departmental staff on media and public relations matters
  • Foster collaborative partnerships with other city, county, and state communications professionals
QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or advanced degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field
  • One year of professional experience as a communications professional

  • Understanding of local and state political processes.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software applications and data entry in various ledger platforms

  • Initiate and maintain all paperwork in compliance with appropriate rules and regulations.
  • Maintain open communication and positive working relationships with CTAC staff, volunteers, interns, community partners, and the general public.
  • Work cooperatively to promote the corporate identity and scope of CTAC.
  • Participate in CTAC staff meetings, profession development and training, as instructed by your supervisor.
  • Participate in maintaining the facilities owned and/or operated by CTAC.
  • Abide by and promote safety practices that reduce the risk of injury and/or property damage and facilitate the well-being of participants, guests, staff and the general public.
  • Gain a working knowledge of and comply with CTAC policies and procedures.
  • Gain a working knowledge of and comply with appropriate CTAC personnel policies and rules for ethical conduct.
  • Report any potential, suspected or actual workplace violence in accordance with the policy described in the Employee Handbook.
  • Report any suspected or incidents of discrimination or harassment of CTAC participants, staff, volunteer, partners, or visitors in accordance with the policy described in the Employee Handbook.
Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this position, the employee regularly alternates between sitting for long periods of time when using computer and computer keyboard; physically moving around from department to department and out in the community. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. The workplace is a comfort controlled open office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When outside the office the work environment, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
