Foster Village Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides holistic wraparound support to children and caregivers involved in the child welfare system. We equip families with basic necessities, connect them with ongoing therapeutic support, and advocate for community awareness to bridge the gaps in child welfare. Our close-knit team is made up of Child Development and Social Work professionals, former/current foster parents who are trained in trauma-informed care, and passionate child welfare advocates. We have two multi-use resource centers, one in Dripping Springs and one in North Austin. And we have affiliate locations throughout the U.S. We strive to be an inviting and safe space for everyone. Primary Role of Communications Manager is to oversee our fast-paced communications related to social media and marketing. We are seeking an organized, friendly, energetic individual who excels in written communication and digital story telling. Ideal candidate has knowledge of foster care/child welfare and professional experience with social media and marketing. Expectations:

  • Develop, support, and promote the Foster Village mission and goals, including message development and social media content creation.
  • Manage communications related to program updates for social media messaging, organizational reports, website updates, and media campaigns.
  • Collaborate with CEO, Director of Programs, and Marketing Contractor on campaigns and story highlights.
  • Maintain brand and mission integrity through the provided marketing, messaging and branding guidelines.
  • Communicate stories, campaigns, and updates with PR firm and other partners (including businesses, churches, and the general community).
  • Weekly on-site hours at our North Austin and/or Dripping Springs resource centers.
  • Attend agreed upon special events as needed on weeknights and weekends.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Bachelors degree or comparable work experience
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Organized and responsive
  • Monday- Friday availability with occasional Saturday hours
  • Personal or professional experience in managing social media
  • Personal or professional experience in foster care or related field is a plus
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Experience managing social media accounts including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter
  • Understanding of basic videography and photography for social media posts
  • Proficient in Canva, Asana, and other digital media apps
  • Ability to work independently and lead a project from start to finish
  • Uses effective communication techniques
  • Ability to be highly organized and accountable
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with widely diverse groups, including individuals at all levels both within and outside the organization
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $40,000.00 - $47,000.00 per year Benefits:
