Job Description


Position Summary:

The Communications Manager supports the Director of Communications in planning, implementing, and measuring our strategic communications programs and public relations campaigns and facilitating our annual conference. He/she is responsible for establishing relationships with internal and external stakeholders and managing multiple fast-moving projects at once. The ideal candidate is extremely organized and able to work independently and solve problems quickly.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements quarterly strategic communications plans and media relations programs aligned with company and departmental goals
  • Interacts with external contacts and staff at all levels of the organization on a regular basis to gather input and approvals
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with internal and external contacts to engage them and support effective internal and external communications programs
  • Develops reports to make data-driven decisions and advise internal stakeholders on campaign performance
  • Works with the Director on annual conference tasks including video creation, scripts, schedules and other projects as assigned
  • Organizes and executes video production projects including the coordination of internal stakeholders and outside vendors to ensure compelling, high-quality deliverables
  • Monitors and reports on press coverage and performance of press releases
  • Manages the annual report production process and other special projects as assigned
  • Supports team with planning and execution of annual Building Safety Month campaign
  • Consults with departmental leads and understand their goals and challenges, and provides appropriate solutions
  • Stays up to date on trends and latest developments in communications, public relations, and new media
Essential Skills, Education, Experience:

Required:
  • Exceptional project management skills including project scoping, prioritization of projects and subtasks, time management, and delegation of task to others
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills and presentation skills
  • Outstanding customer service skills including flexibility, problem solving, expectation management and communication on progress
  • Understanding of best practices and approaches for the creation, optimization, and promotion of digital content
  • Proven experience developing and implementing communications plans required
  • Preferred:
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, public relations, and corporate and/or nonprofit communications
  • A bachelor\'s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Monday.com
  • Familiarity with AP style
Other things to note:
  • This position requires up to 10% travel
  • This position can be fully remote
