Communications Assistant (part Time)

Job Description


The communications assistant will be responsible for the creation of content such as media releases, blogs, and social media posts on behalf of our company. You will also be monitoring media and campaign coverage, preparing reports, and attending internal and external events. This role will primarily support the manager of strategic communications.
Responsibilities

  • Help design and implement various communications campaigns
  • Draft and edit communications copy and images, website updates, and social media posts
  • Prepare presentations and ad hoc reports
  • Organize meetings, conferences, and other events
  • Format internal and external newsletters, schedule distribution, and implement strategy to expand campaign reach via newsletters
  • Maintain and implement strategy to expand distribution lists
  • Format event-specific social media campaigns and suggest audience expansion strategies
  • Maintain a media log and reporter/activity log
  • Draft coverage reports
  • Update and tag publications and media listings on website
  • Format press releases and other media for website
  • Monitor website tracking and analytics
  • Maintain and edit internal and external websites

  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or experiential equivalent in communications, marketing, or related field.
  • Excellent written communications skills (content, diction, spelling, grammar)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • High proficiency in word processing and design software
  • Solid ability to prioritize
  • Good understanding of social media and social media platforms
  • Good understanding of media relations
