Job Summary:

This position provides administrative support for the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) department. The position is responsible for assisting with the fiscal and administrative operations; and manages the departmental website and social media platforms. The Communication Specialist should also have experience as an effective storyteller using a wide variety of platforms, including a writing style suitable for publication audience.

Website and social media management

- Conceptualizing creative ideas with EHS team.

- Testing and improving the design of the website.

- Maintaining the appearance of websites by enforcing content standards.

- Designing visual imagery for website and ensuring that they are in line with branding for OSU.

- Communicating design ideas using user flows, process flows, site maps and wireframes.

- Preparing design plans and presenting the website structure.

Administrative operations

- Provide clerical support to staff.

- Answer the phone, greet customers, route mail, transfer calls, schedule meetings.

- Use computer programs including, but not limited to, OSU Banner System, AIRS, OKCorral, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook to assist in the administrative duties of the office.

Position Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

High school and six years related experience with requirement to receive bachelor\'s degree within six years of hire or Bachelor\'s degree and one year of related experience.

Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and OMNI.
Understanding and proficiency in customer service.
Excellent communication skills.
Capability to maintain the strictest confidentiality.
Good problem-solving, research, and public relations skills.
Team oriented in carrying out tasks.
Ability to cope with stress in a positive manner.
Good keyboarding skills including typing.
Strong attention to detail.
Flexibility to handle multiple priorities with poise and professionalism.
Proficient in the use of MS Office software.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor\'s in Graphic Design, IT plus five years of work related experience in the areas of electronic product support, Learning Management System (LMS) support, mobile device (iPhone, iPad, Android) support, eBook support, and PC or Mac support.
