Overview: About the Opportunity GCG is looking for a Category Manager to join our Supply Chain team! This role offers the flexibility to be remote or hybrid. The Category Manager will be responsible for working within the Communications \xe2\x80\x93 Building Technology segment of our operations to develop, implement, and maintain strategies for long-term product success. This role will require a high level of collaboration with departments such as the purchasing and sales team. Maintaining relationships with suppliers will also be a part of your responsibilities in this role.
What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do

• Analyze data or product portfolio to determine GCG segment trends.
• Create long-term development strategies for product categories with the GCG Commercial team.
• Responsible for supplier negotiation and contacting suppliers to obtain the best value, operational, and financial terms.
• Develop spend shift strategies for the supplier line card.
• Improve rebate as a percentage of COGS through supplier programs and spend shift.
• Collaborate with the commercial team and buyers to expand product categories.
• Effectively communicate key product messaging both internally and externally.
• Conduct product evaluation and comparisons to identify alternates.
• Identify, manage, and communicate new product introductions.
• Address supplier performance management and issue resolutions.
• Track Supply Chain key performance indicators and metrics.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll bring

• 7+ years of experience as a Category Manager, Procurement Manager, or other relevant experience.
• Knowledge of contract negotiation, procurement, marketing, and sales principles.
• Understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods.
• Proven ability to think analytically and strategically.
• Ability to collaborate cross functionally with multiple departments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
