What You'll Do

Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture Effectively communicate with others about possible production issues, concerns, and needs Ensure equipment inspection reports are filled out each shift Responsible for continuous improvement such as suggesting improvements in work methods and procedures Responsible for daily housekeeping duties including but not limited to immediate work area Ability to troubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others Perform minor/routine maintenance or repairs as needed to equipment without the assistance of maintenance personnel Assist maintenance personnel when requested/needed Understand start up, shutdown, and emergency procedures Lead caster area in all phases of safety, quality, and production Maintain caster production information Coordinate caster activities with other areas of the Melt Shop

What You'll Need

Ability to operate fork lift and overhead crane required Familiarity with steel mill operations in a Melt Shop preferred Demonstrates dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs Basic computer skills Ability to operate hand tools Ability to use all measuring devices (tapes, micrometer, inside outside calipers, etc) Ability to learn quickly and multitask required Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to work with exposure to extremes in temperature, chemical, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift which may include weekend and holiday Ability to work overtime as necessary outside of normally scheduled shift with little or no advance notification Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced multi-discipline environment, with strong work ethic, attention to detail, organizational and listening skills

Your Education

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required
