Now Hiring: 1099 Fiber & Coax Cable Technicians (Charter Spectrum) - Hammond, LA and Surrounding Areas

We are seeking

1099 Contractors

for

Charter Spectrum

to perform residential and commercial

cable and fiber installation, troubleshooting, and repair

in

Hammond, LA

and surrounding areas.

Please note: This is not an hourly or W-2 position; it is a piece-rate 1099 contractor role. Applicants must have prior experience in cable, fiber, or similar electrical work.

Position Responsibilities

Install, troubleshoot, and repair cabling systems (Ethernet, telephone, fiber optic, coaxial). Perform cable terminations, splicing, and testing. Install and configure network equipment such as routers. Ensure proper cable management and labeling. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following safety protocols. Deliver excellent customer service while addressing client inquiries. Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

Prior experience as a Cable Installer, Fiber Technician, or in a related electrical role. Strong knowledge of low-voltage systems, Ethernet, telephone cabling, and fiber splicing. Familiarity with hand tools and equipment required for cable installations. Understanding of mechanical and electrical principles. Ability to work independently or within a team. Strong problem-solving and customer service skills. Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Must pass a

drug screening and background check

. Must have a

valid driver's license

. Must have a

work vehicle equipped to safely carry 28ft and 6ft fiberglass ladders

. Must have all necessary

hand tools and ladders

for work.

Compensation

Competitive piece-rate pay

based on completed work and experience.
