Carbon Manager

This position is eligible to work remotely/virtuall.

As the Carbon Manager, you will be responsible for executing carbon project development on Truterra\'s behalf. You will contribute to developing the strategy for how Truterra creates, assures, maintains and transacts carbon credits, and lead the execution team to carry out these activities. Your goal in this role is to ensure the Truterra carbon program is accessible, usable and scalable, as well as credible, rigorous, and transparent. Exceptional people leadership, attention to detail, and organizational engagement is central to success of this dynamic role. In addition to technical aptitude and experience in agricultural carbon markets, the candidate must have the ability to manage a wide array of internal and external stakeholder interests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead execution of Truterra\'s carbon programs, including measurement, monitoring, reporting and verification as required for carbon removal offsets, scope 3 reductions projects, and low-carbon commodities
  • Collaborate on Truterra\'s strategic position in agricultural carbon markets
  • Ensure appropriate implementation of methodologies and project design documentation
  • Inventory management, including data governance and integrity
  • Creation, continuous improvement, and execution of standard operating procedures
Required Experience & Education:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in the agricultural carbon quantification and methodology space
  • Proven ability to manage, build and empower a high-performing, technical team
  • In-depth understanding of the carbon accounting, quantification, and methodology standards and broader landscape

  • Excellent leadership and organizational effectiveness skills, including knowledge of active listening and team engagement
  • Intellectual flexibility, agility, and an innovative mindset; willing to think outside the box and advance the state of agricultural carbon markets to meet the needs of the world today
  • Ability to work and lead collaboratively with teams across an organization
  • Ability to translate complex or ambiguous concepts into digestible information (e.g., protocols) for a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Extremely organized and obsessive about quality
  • Passion for data, natural resource conservation science, and modeling techniques
  • Is a pioneer, thriving in a fast-paced, extremely ambiguous environment
Preferred Experience & Education:
  • Advanced degree in STEM preferred
  • Experience in agile methodologies preferred
Salary is negotiable based on experience: $114,480 to $171,720
