Job Description

Assistant Accountant for HOA- Short term position -Pahoa



Key Responsibilities



Accounting & Financial Support



Assist with

accounts receivable and accounts payable

, including posting member payments and vendor invoices Enter and verify financial transactions in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar) Help maintain accurate

member list and account balances


Records & Document Management



Scan and upload financial and administrative documents into

Dropbox or digital filing systems

Organize invoices, receipts, bank records, escrow packets, and correspondence Maintain orderly and auditable financial files in accordance with internal policies Assist in researching historical records to resolve discrepancies

Data Cleanup & Special Projects



Assist with

data conversion

during accounting software upgrades Help verify member/tenant records, property information, and billing accuracy Support correction of historical errors in financial records under supervision Assist with special projects assigned by the Accountant or Property Manager

Administrative Support



Respond to basic billing or account inquiries (training provided) Assist with mail processing, payment tracking, and correspondence logging Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and personal information

Required Qualifications



Basic understanding of

accounting or bookkeeping principles

Strong attention to detail and accuracy Proficiency with

Microsoft Excel and Word

Comfortable working with digital files and cloud storage systems Ability to follow procedures and work with confidential information

Preferred Qualifications



Experience in

property management, HOA, or nonprofit accounting

Familiarity with

QuickBooks (Online or Desktop)

Prior experience with document scanning and digital recordkeeping Coursework or training in accounting, finance, or business administration
