Job Summary
The Intake Coordinator is a key in enhancing the level of competency in patient care and optimal operations within the clinic. This position will allow effective, efficient coordination of all components of multidisciplinary care, including assistance with coordination with the Lung Cancer Screening Program. Communication and organizational skills are key in this position in order to facilitate the multidisciplinary coordination necessary for quality patient care and patient satisfaction. This position will partner with physicians, clinical staff within clinic, and staff across a variety of UKHC clinical, surgical, and hospital areas, referring physicians, outside facilities, and the patient to achieve the desired outcome for our patients and their families.
This position has been identified as supporting UK HealthCare, which receives funding from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Therefore, all individuals hired into this position must comply with the federal CMS mandate issued in March of 2022. This mandate requires all new hires to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption as a condition of employment. Start of employment cannot occur until two weeks after receiving the full COVID-19 vaccination series or upon obtaining an approved exemption. Only vaccines approved by the World Health Organization can be accepted.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Interpersonal skills, communication skills, independent decision making, critical thinking. Experience with healthcare appointment scheduling, medical insurance referrals and authorizations, medical terminology, new patient coordination, medical records, customer service, program management and patient care coordination.

Preferred Education/Experience
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree plus three or more years related experience preferred.
