Job Description


The River Products Company is a manufacturer of limestone, sand and gravel products, located in Iowa City, Iowa. River Products was established in March 1920. The Administrative Coordinator will be responsible for various office administrative tasks including, but not limited to, ordering, data entry, filing, answering phones, scheduling meetings, updating/maintaining office procedure manuals, etc. The Administrative Coordinator will be required to interact with customers, visitors and employees in a positive, professional and cheerful manner. Candidate must be a skilled communicator, supportive team member and be able to multitask in a variety of roles across several departments. Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing administrative functions including distributing mail, ordering, and stocking supplies, answering phones
  • Provides support to various office departments
  • Able to be main point of contact for the office
  • Receives and greets visitors to the office, directs them to appropriate departments, provides general information and answers inquiries
  • Arranges appointments, meeting and notifies participants and provide accompanying materials
  • Assists in updating department manuals and safety material
  • Provides assistance in preparing, updating and maintaining human resource documents, while always ensuring confidentiality
  • Assists with clerical tasks in relation to accounting, payroll, receiving, and/or human resources including filing, data entry, record review and maintenance, etc.
  • Performs large copy projects and bulk mailings as required
  • Maintain office memos and informative postings
  • Operate technology, systems, and software such as voicemail systems, copy/scanners, personal computers, and MS Office
  • Always punctual and attends work regularly at the required time and designated place
Job Qualifications/Required Skills - High School Diploma or equivalent experience; some college preferred - 2 plus years of administrative support experience - Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments - Excellent written/interpersonal communication and organizational skills - Ability to work effectively and positively with employees/co-workers - Ability to work quickly and efficiently - Able to multi-task and meet deadlines - Strong digital literacy is required of Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc), Internet, typing and other databases. - Ability to quickly learn and put to use new skills and knowledge in a rapidly changing environment - Ability to make decisions in accordance with office rules and policies - Excellent listening skills - Maturity and a professional demeanor required at all times - Highly efficient with a strong attention to detail Job Type: Full-time Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour Benefits:
