Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
Previous experience as an administrative assistant or secretary in an academic setting or other professional setting. Knowledge of Texas State University and Academic Affairs policies and procedures.
Skill in preparing well-written, grammatically correct, accurate documents and correspondence with strong proofreading skills.
Knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Office. i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
Strong organizational skills, especially in terms of attention to detail and problem solving.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload and exercise appropriate initiative while working independently or in a team.
Ability to work with difficult situations, time pressure and interruptions.
Ability to practice professionalism and discretion.

The Administrative Assistant III will be responsible for providing administrative/clerical support to the McCoy College Dean\xe2\x80\x99s Office/College and direct support to the Associate Dean of Faculty & Research, and Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs.
Job Duties
Provide administrative assistance directly to the AD, F&R. Including: Travel Requests/Expenses, Calendar Support, Data Support, Outreach Support, & Event Support.
Provide administrative assistance directly to the AD, UP. Including: Travel Requests/Expenses, Calendar Support, Process Student Appeals, Oversee Dean\xe2\x80\x99s List Certificate Process
General duties in support of the Dean\xe2\x80\x99s Office/college:
Oversee Facilities Requests for the college.
Process Classroom/Conference Room Reservation Requests for the college.
Manage Reserved Parking Requests for the college.
The Administrative Assistant III will use independent judgment to organize and prioritize work while working in a team-oriented, fast paced environment.
Assist the Sr. Assistant to the Dean in the office with supervising the daily operations of the office and provide primary support for the reception of guests and calls in the office.
Assist in monitoring the progress of assignments delegated to the student employees for the office.
Assist in supervising and hiring staff and student employees.
Attend administrative staff meetings.
Assist in the purchasing of goods/services in accordance with university policy when necessary.
Assist the college\xe2\x80\x99s staff and events coordinator with arrangements for meetings or special events.
Monitor McCoy College Email Mailbox.
Perform other duties as assigned.
