The Accounting Associate/Office Administrator is a position that will allow the selected candidate the opportunity to be exposed to various aspects of the asphalt construction industry. This position will be responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Job communications and billings, and numerous other duties. The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent computer skills, the ability to learn various applications and participate in the implementation of new technology. Duties/Responsibilities

  • Process weekly asphalt tickets and prepare FOB AR invoices
  • Input aggregate invoices
  • Fuel inventories monthly
  • IFTA reporting quarterly
  • VDOT C forms
  • Truck hire
  • Prepare subcontracts
  • Reconcile monthly VDOT estimates
  • Subcontractor payments
  • Make bank deposits and process credit card sales
  • Prepare job work orders
  • Job billing
  • Other duties as assigned
Essential Functions:
  • Ability to analyze data and compile reports and spreadsheets as required by management
  • The ability to communicate effectively and professionally
  • Must comprehend and follow detailed instructions; the ability to work independently on assigned tasks
  • Must have a strong work ethic and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
  • Be a team player and able to take initiative on projects
  • Exceptional organizational skills to efficiently complete a variety of tasks in a timely manner
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of two years of accounting or related experience; preferred college coursework in accounting or business
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to Excel and Word
  • Be able to comprehend and follow instructions and be able to multi-task
  • Perform complex and repetitive tasks
  • Be a strong team player and able to take initiative on projects
  • Exceptional organizational skills to effectively coordinate and complete a variety of tasks in a timely manner
