Robert Half is seeking a permanent Accounting Associate to become a vital part of the rapidly growing team at a respectable company in the construction industry. Your responsibilities as the Accounting Associate will be to focus on Accounts Payable including matching, batching, and coding invoices, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L, and processing checks. You will have an opportunity for career growth and advancement within this dynamic department. The Accounting Associate role will be situated in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area and is a permanent employment. The role will offer hybrid work after training for 2 days per week.

What you get to do every day:

- Carry out daily processes and controls accurately and on time, and ensure compliance with company policies

- Sort, log, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents

- Verify, log and mail checks, including expediting special handling

- Provide administrative assistance to the AP/Finance Department

- Perform special projects as assigned

- Carry out a full-cycle A/P

- Manage customer service tasks for internal business partners

- Open, organize, and distribute department mail daily

- Facilitate internal and external audits as needed

Requirements

- Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

- 1+ years of experience in an A/P role preferred

- Demonstrated communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds

- Command of Purchase Orders

- Accounts Payable (AP) experience

- Deep understanding of Microsoft Dynamics CRM
