The Wine Manager for IL/WI/MN/CO/AZ/NV role is one that offers the opportunity to work on 3 great brands with a great diversity in market dynamics and field sales teams among others. The role will be based in Illinois, as it is the largest market of the 6, but will work with the teams in all 6 states to ensure we are winning with wine in all we do. What You Can Expect

Commercial Leadership \xe2\x80\x93 75%
\xe2\x97\x8f Where wine brands are represented by separate distributors, or by different houses within the same distributors, serves as either the primary contact for Brown-Forman or partners with the local field sales team on management and oversight of distributors.
\xe2\x97\x8f Partners with the local team in implementation and execution of B-F brand and business plans with distributors, holding them accountable for results via the B-F SEE and performance management processes.
\xe2\x97\x8f Manages distributor investment funds where available.
\xe2\x97\x8f Leads planning process for wine brands across the territory by collaborating with key region, cluster and state sales leads as well as national and regional account teams
\xe2\x97\x8f Partners with National Account Manager/Customer Account Manager/Region Chain Manager (chain account) network to ensure that national & regional accounts are effectively managed for the wine brands.
\xe2\x97\x8f Where assigned, manages wine-only accounts, including regional and national customers.
\xe2\x97\x8f Has a deep working knowledge of the largest metro areas in the region. Within footprint markets, acts as B-F\xe2\x80\x99s key contact for a defined list of \xe2\x80\x98lighthouse\xe2\x80\x99 wine accounts. Conducts distributor work-withs as required.
\xe2\x97\x8f Partners with market leaders in managing key portfolio development activities and localizing the brand\xe2\x80\x99s national initiatives. Includes cluster-wide and local market planning/programming and investment, pricing guidance, distribution objectives, distributor incentives, multicultural programs, product/package allocations, limited-production requests, etc.
\xe2\x97\x8f Directs brand strategy, establishing brand priorities and partnering on oversight and implementation.
\xe2\x97\x8f Analyzes brand/market performance metrics and recommends plans to improve.
\xe2\x97\x8f Represents territory in the wine team\xe2\x80\x99s annual brand planning process.
\xe2\x97\x8f Monitors and measures performance against the wine portfolio objectives.
\xe2\x97\x8f Compiles and shares category, brand and competitive insights with territory stakeholders and brand teams.
Consumer Development \xe2\x80\x93 25%
\xe2\x97\x8f Leads/directs consumer-facing events and executions including brand- and market-sponsored events and wine tastings.
\xe2\x97\x8f Plans local media, digital, PR and other local marketing investment.
\xe2\x97\x8f Collaborates with field multicultural leaders on development and execution of branded MC events and promotions.
\xe2\x97\x8f Evaluates key consumer activations.
\xe2\x97\x8f Maintains comprehensive understanding of each brand\xe2\x80\x99s production story, history, and winery/homeplace.
\xe2\x97\x8f Hosts winemaker visits/events and attends key planning and training sessions at the wineries.

We Are Looking For People Who
\xe2\x97\x8f Have a Bachelor\'s Degree and 5-7 years sales and/or marketing experience OR 10+ years of relevant sales or marketing experience in the Wine Industry.
\xe2\x97\x8f Demonstrated knowledge of on- and off-premise channels and three-tier distribution system.
\xe2\x97\x8f Demonstrated ability to build relationships and maintain effective working relationships with top level decision makers, distributors and all internal stakeholders.
\xe2\x97\x8f Wine category knowledge and training \xe2\x80\x93 CSW or WSET preferred.
\xe2\x97\x8f Ability to analyze and translate insights data.
\xe2\x97\x8f Demonstrated ability to think strategically.
\xe2\x97\x8f Demonstrated understanding of distributor management and the ability to manage people at a high level in organizations.
\xe2\x97\x8f Demonstrated knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel. Social media marketing experience is preferred.
\xe2\x97\x8f Ability to work independently with little supervision; self-motivated.
\xe2\x97\x8f High level of wine/spirit industry and product knowledge.
\xe2\x97\x8f Excellent oral, analytical and written communication skills.
\xe2\x97\x8f Strong organizational and planning skills.
\xe2\x97\x8f Ability and willingness to maintain flexible work schedules, as some weekend and extended workdays are necessary.
\xe2\x97\x8f Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.
\xe2\x97\x8f Ability and willingness to travel 35-40% of the time, including some weekends.
