Job Summary:

The Tray Pack Superintendent oversees all aspects of the Tray Pack and ensures that all product is processed according to Butterball procedures, schedules and customer specifications on a two shift operation. This position ensures that Butterball\xe2\x80\x99s core values such as Safety, Food Safety and Cost Reduction projects are accomplished. In addition, the Superintendent controls all aspects of labor, quality expectations, and management of machine operations.

Responsibilities:

Trains, directs, and supports the Tray Pack Production Supervisors to achieve company goals

Ensures all resources are available to produce quality products in a timely, safe, and efficient manner with a high expectation in quality

Directs daily production processes to ensure that orders are completed according to the instructions given by the company scheduler and/or plant manager in a safe and efficient manner

Communicates and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance

Monitors production reporting for accuracy and timeliness

Implements company standards and programs to achieve a safe and productive work environment

Directs HACCP plan to achieve USDA requirements and guides in bird related issues

Tracks and documents KPI\xe2\x80\x99s

This position is managing both shifts, critical to spend 70% of their time on days, 30% on evenings

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:

Familiarity with applicable government regulations including but not limited to GMP\xe2\x80\x99s, HACCP, and USDA regulations

Knowledge of BRC practices and standards through company and departmental training and understanding

Have basic computer skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong leadership skills, ability to work successfully with cross-functional teams

Knowledge of involving and leading Supervisors and Associates in a team-based manner

Education and Experience:

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Industry or Department related field is preferred

3 \xe2\x80\x93 5 years relevant experience in a Supervisory or higher-level management role is required

Poultry or Meat Processing Plant Experience Preferred

Additional Responsibilities:

The Tray Pack Superintendent assists the Operations Manager with evaluation and input regarding processing methods and equipment. The Superintendent also assists in the implementation of new processing methods, systems, and equipment.
