JOB TITLE: VP OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT





General Summary:



Under the direction of the SVP/Chief Marketing Officer, the VP of Business Development is responsible for driving growth by


identifying new membership and partnership opportunities, analyzing market trends, building strategies, and executing


plans to penetrate existing markets, expand the credit union's reach, impact product adoption rates and increase


revenue. Key responsibilities include developing strategic plans, fostering relationships with businesses and community


groups, leading sales and business development marketing efforts, managing a team, and ensuring the credit union's


products and services meet evolving member needs. The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, a


deep understanding of the financial industry, and proven experience in strategic planning and sales. The position requires


regular communication across other 1st Nor Cal departments and occasionally with supporting vendors. The VP of Business


Development position operates with a high degree of autonomy. Work has a high degree of impact on business continuity


and reach throughout all 1st Nor Cal departments.




Responsibilities:



Develop and implement long-term strategies to achieve the credit union's growth and revenue objectives. Build


relationships within communities/field of membership through creative PR strategies, on-site engagements and


presentations. Create and maintain a portfolio of approved business development materials, document business


development activities and prepare reports as needed.

Research and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and economic shifts to identify emerging opportunities


and potential threats.


Cultivate and manage relationships with existing SEGs, member groups and community groups and identify, foster


and develop new relationships with potential business partners, community organizations, and key stakeholders to


expand membership and services.


Identify and pursue new opportunities to acquire new members and increase member engagement and loyalty


Marketing planning, including developing and executing business development campaigns, analyzing selling


techniques, and promoting the credit union's products and services.


Manage, recruit, train, and supervise a business development team, providing coaching and performance feedback


to ensure targets are met.




Desired Skills and Experience

:


Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, PR or related field preferred.


7+ years experience as a business development professional (ideally at a credit union or other financial institution).


2+ years experience managing a business development team.


Credit Union or financial institution experience.


Proficiency with a CRM platform and ability to train others on its use.


Proficiency with Microsoft Business Suite programs.


Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite applicable programs.


Excellent organizational and time management skills.


Excellent verbal, written, telephone and interpersonal communication skills.


Strong business writing and presentation skills.


Ability to successfully manage multiple projects/priorities simultaneously


Knowledge of credit union products, services, regulatory policies and procedures.


Ability to represent the Credit Union in a courteous and professional manner.

Hourly Range: $47.04 - $54.88
