The Role:

The Vice President of Strategic Finance will provide analytical and financial modeling support across all areas of the business. This position requires a detail-oriented approach and the ability to distill complex issues into structured frameworks and concrete action plans. The team member must be self-motivated, reliable, trustworthy, and conscientious with a thorough understanding of financial procedures and analysis. They will develop data-driven investment theses, contract and market specific business cases, and evaluate criteria for growth and efficiency oriented strategic initiatives. The expectation is the team member will be able to conduct analysis, build models, and form relationships with business partners across various functions including Operations, Actuarial, Analytics, and Growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with executive leadership, leveraging financial insights into actionable recommendations
  • Own and scale consolidated strategic and financial planning processes:
  • Utilize various systems and sources to gather data for inputs/adjustments
  • Compile and review detailed plan/forecast inputs and updates
  • Maintain and improve data element mappings and modeling calculations
  • Ensure accuracy and transparency of data at a detailed level
  • Support M&A and other inorganic growth diligence efforts and process management
  • Work with Growth team to evaluate new deals and proposed deal structures
  • Facilitate ad-hoc and cross-functional strategic and operational projects with Market Presidents, Operations and Analytics
  • Maintain and optimize the consolidated corporate model and unit economics for presentation to internal stakeholders, the Board and investors
  • Partner closely with accounting team on monthly close process and financial reporting
  • Develop and implement monthly and quarterly board reporting materials and one-off board or investor relations requests
  • Supports all capital raising activities
Requirements:

Who you are:
  • 8+ years\' experience working in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or strategic finance environment
  • Background in healthcare; experience with tech-enabled healthcare, health systems, managed care, value-based care, and managed service organizations, preferred
  • Outstanding leadership skills with 4+ years of previous people management experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment, where you will work as part of a team, but are also responsible for independent work
  • Capable of establishing and maintaining effective relationships with business partners and cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrate the ability to be highly analytical and inquisitive with high attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy, capable of solving complex business problems using data-driven decision-making style
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and ability to learn department and job-specific software systems; experience with business intelligence platforms (i.e. Tableau, Looker, Sigma) a plus
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
