The Project and Construction Management Department has a market focus of owner representation and consulting services for any size project, program, or development starting at conception to close out and beyond. This consists of oversight and execution of full-service design projects both in a sub-prime or prime role.

Position Duties:

  • Review team member performance to ensure quality and efficient cost-effective utilization of staff. Monitor and maintain development staffing levels, staffing loading, and staffing assignments to meet project requirements while maintaining goals.
  • Monitor progress on projects and provide input into areas of concern and direction or redirection to enhance achievement of project schedules, productivity goals, budgets, and quality.
  • Work with practice leads, team leads, and project managers to coordinate project schedules.
  • Advance and develop division tools and workflows to increase efficiency of designs, specification development, and project execution.
  • Develop and lead team on PEC Project Management standards, KPIs, and training programs.
  • Participate in leadership/management meetings and work with staff to meet or exceed PEC KPI\'s and growth initiatives.
  • Work with managers, leads, project managers and team members to develop business strategies, business development and client management efforts. Identify and develop innovative opportunities for business growth and engineering improvement across PEC engineering disciplines.
  • Actively communicate with internal and external clients to share Project/Client intelligence across multiple teams.
  • The Vice President of Project Management must be pro-active, willing to take initiative, responsive, and sensitive to project, client, and personnel needs. Also, must be team oriented, client-focused with a strong work ethic and safety focus.
  • Hire qualified staff to meet growth, project load, and quality needs. Take initiative to improve underperforming staff to meet the collective goals of the organization, team, and project work.
  • Work with internal team members to attract, identify, and secure talent to develop and strengthen offered services.
  • Mentor and develop staff, focusing on professional growth and capabilities.
  • Occasional travel to branch offices will be required. Some project related travel may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, or architecture from an accredited program. Advanced degree is preferred.
  • Professional registration in engineering or architecture is strongly recommended.
  • 10+ years of related work experience and leadership in design engineering and construction management in either commercial, healthcare, industrial, government or education markets.
  • 5+ years of corporate leadership experience with a focus on team building, training, and mentoring.
  • Experience in design engineering and construction management using design bid build, design build, construction manager at risk, multiple prime and integrated contracting methods required.
  • Experience in project execution, project cost estimates detailed design, work planning, control methods and project execution support. Possess a clear understanding of the steps of project development and the level of detail required in each step of project development required.
  • Proficient user of MS Office software.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, organizational skills
