Job Description


The YMCA of Honolulu is one of the largest non-profit organizations in the state of Hawaii.



The YMCA is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Membership and Healthy Living to provide leadership and strategic direction for our organization\'s Membership and Healthy Living initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing programs, services, membership, and partnerships that promote healthy living and improve overall wellness for our members, staff, and community. The Vice President of Membership and Healthy Living will work collaboratively with other departments to develop and implement programs that promote youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Responsible for at least one branch delivery and supervision of others. Responsible for management and staff lead of Association Property and Facility Committee.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor\'s degree in health, fitness or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in developing and implementing membership and healthy lifestyle services, preferably in a nonprofit, healthcare, or public health setting.
  • Strong leadership, strategic planning, and operational management skills, with successful experience leading teams and managing budgets.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement programs and services that promote youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of practices and emerging trends related to Membership & Healthy Living.
  • Passion for the YMCA\'s mission and values and a commitment to promoting Membership & Healthy Living.
Essential Functions
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Membership & Healthy Living strategy that aligns with the YMCA\'s mission, goals, values, and strategic plan.
  • Lead the development and implementation of programs and services related to healthy living, including holistic health initiatives.
  • Lead the development and implementation of membership programs and services that provide opportunities and access to our physical and digital delivery of programs.
  • Provide leadership to systems and processes that are efficient and maximize our resources.
  • Identify and establish partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to expand the reach and impact of our Membership & Healthy Living initiatives.
  • Develop and manage budgets for Membership & Healthy Living programs and services, ensuring appropriate allocation of resources.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including YMCA leadership, staff, volunteers, members, and community partners.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff responsible for Membership & Healthy Living programs and services, ensuring that they are high quality, effective, and aligned with the YMCA\'s mission and values.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Membership & Healthy Living programs and services, making adjustments as needed to improve outcomes.
  • Serve as a spokesperson and advocate for the YMCA\'s Membership & Healthy Living initiatives, representing the organization in public forums and with the media.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and emerging trends related to Membership, consumer behaviors, Healthy Living, and integrate new knowledge into the YMCA\'s programs and services.
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement cross-functional initiatives that promote the YMCA\'s mission and strategic goals.
  • Provide support and leadership to our Association Property and Facility committee including maintaining rosters, communicating meeting information, organizing agendas, providing information relative to the Committee, and ensuring meeting materials are assembled and distributed.
