Job Description




Avendra Group\xe2\x80\x99s Vice President of Marketing and Communications oversees the development of business strategy and all marketing, thought leadership and growth enablement activities which support Avendra in achieving its new business, client retention, and brand awareness objectives.

The VP of Marketing and Communications leads a team of 10 \xe2\x80\x93 12 associates responsible for

  • Market Segment Strategy
  • Strategic Association Partnerships
  • Marketing Centers of Excellence for content, communication, events and the marketing tech stack
Job Responsibilities

The VP will not only partner with Avendra leadership of Sales, Account Management, Analytics, Field Support, outside Marketing Agencies and other suppliers, but also all GPO business units and various Aramark corporate leaders to leverage resources and drive business growth.

This position leads innovation and evaluation of new solutions, partners and resources that will be piloted, measured and scaled if appropriate.

Strategy/Value Proposition Refinement
  • Plan, implement and manage Avendra\xe2\x80\x99s business and marketing strategy
  • Create Go-To-Market plans for each client segment
Business Development & Retention Support
  • Oversee Marketing Centers of Excellence to deliver new business pipeline support, collateral materials, white papers and case studies, video testimonials, presentation and proposal templates, RFPs, social media, advertising, public relations and other strategies to enhance our ability to sell and retain business.
  • Create and lead a robust competitive assessment, tracking and benchmarking capability and research organization
  • Launch a Growth Enablement capability that ensures sales and customer facing associates are trained in the use of materials, platforms and resources to grow the business.
  • Ensure adoption and effective use of Avendra\xe2\x80\x99s marketing tech stack including Hubspot, myAvendra, LinkedIn Sales Navigator and other platforms.
Responsibilities Continued:

Industry Relations
  • Oversee the development of new industry partnerships to expand Avendra\xe2\x80\x99s reach within the marketplace and potentially develop new programs and projects that enhance Avendra\xe2\x80\x99s brand awareness.
  • Lead the development of plans and manage key relationships with industry partners to ensure Avendra maximizes each of its partner agreements.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Account Management and Sourcing to manage the overarching conference strategy, trade show participation and master calendar, attendee guidelines, booth design, annual themes, and tracking/measurement of results.
Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the parent company marketing, growth enablement and corporate PR teams to maximize resources and secure strong opportunities for exposure and gain extensive coverage for Avendra in relevant media vehicles.
  • Collaborate with GPO marketing leadership and lead cross-GPO business unit facilitation efforts
  • In partnership with the organization\xe2\x80\x99s technology group, transform the digital experience for clients/customers and associates
Department and Budget Management:
  • Lead, inspire and develop a team of approximately 10-12 people with 2-4 Director-level direct reports, ensuring that all activities are on strategy and within budget
  • Develop professionalism and skills of the Marketing and Communications team members to maximize impact for the organization
  • Build and manage the Marketing and Communications annual budget
Qualifications
  • 15-20 years progressively responsible marketing and/or project management leadership experience, with demonstrated success and effective performance
  • A strategic and creative problem solver able to distill large amounts of information into actionable strategies and deploy a team effectively to deliver solid program execution
  • Ability to nurture, lead and energize a team
  • Experience or demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-based environment within a heavily matrixed organization
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with a track record of managing multiple large projects simultaneously to successful conclusion
  • Hospitality industry experience is desirable, as is exposure to sales and account management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Possess a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s and an MBA/Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree from an accredited college or university
Location and Travel:
  • Position is based in Rockville MD or Philadelphia, PA
  • Overnight travel is estimated at less than 30%
