Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for clients and their pets, providing exceptional customer service while supporting clinical staff with administrative and technical tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal handling, and basic medical procedures to ensure smooth clinic operations and optimal pet care. Most importantly, this job requires a lot of compassion and a drive to help all of our amazing clients have the best experience possible while we provide care for their pets.

Responsibilities

Greet clients and their pets professionally, ensuring a welcoming environment. Schedule appointments, manage client records, and handle phone inquiries efficiently. Collect payments and process medical collections accurately. Assist with kennel duties, including animal husbandry and pet care during visits. Support veterinary staff with animal restraint, animal anatomy knowledge, and aseptic techniques as needed. Prepare and maintain medical records, laboratory samples, and other documentation. Assist with pet grooming, dog training, or pet grooming tasks when required. Maintain cleanliness and organization of reception area and clinical spaces. Handle animal handling tasks such as dog handling, animal restraint, and pet care with compassion and safety in mind.

Experience

Prior experience in veterinary clinics or animal care environments is preferred. Knowledge of veterinary critical care procedures and laboratory experience is advantageous. Skills in animal catheterization, pet grooming, or equine experience are a plus. Familiarity with veterinary terminology, animal restraint techniques, and aseptic procedures is highly desirable. Experience with dog training or pet grooming can be beneficial for supporting client needs. Strong communication skills combined with a genuine passion for animal welfare are essential for success in this role.
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
