Indigo Industries is seeking an experienced and versatile UAS Pilot to support the development, test, and fielding of next-generation UAS aircraft. As Phoenix-based UAS Pilot, you will be responsible for:
Pilot developmental UAS test article aircraft to evaluate against critical system performance, reliability, and safety attributes.
Acts as the sole authority on the safe and effective operation of UAS aircraft as the Pilot in Command (PIC) authority.
Maintain operational compliance within FAA, FCC, and various international entity permissions, regulations, and waivers.
Assist in drafting documentation supporting regulatory engagement activity.
Recommends changes to aircraft to meet the pilot's needs better or improve flight stability & performance characteristics.
Conducts flight demonstrations and prolonged operational flights supporting customer operations and new customer engagement.
Interface with key leadership to support system design reviews.
Provide technical guidance to support aircraft development, ground qualification, flight test, and field operation activities.
Occasional travel (<20%) to domestic locations to support flight test, operations, and international customer operations.
Required
Bachelor's degree (unmanned systems, aeronautics, aerospace engineering) or equivalent professional experience.
4-6 years of relevant professional experience in fixed-wing UAS operations or adjacent activity.
Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
High level of skill and proficiency in manually piloting RC aircraft.
Direct experience in developing and tuning PID control loops for use in VTOL and fixed-wing UAS aircraft.
Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnostics of complex electromechanical systems.
High proficiency in UAS flight operations, aeronautics, and aircraft performance.
Creative in uncovering and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
US Citizenship
Desired
Rated Pilot (PPL, Instrument Rating, CPL, CFI, ATP, military, etc.)
Fixed-wing tactical UAS flight experience (ScanEagle, Aerosonde, Shadow, Raven, Puma, TigerShark).
High proficiency in austere UAS flight operations, aeronautics, aircraft performance, flight dynamics, and stability/control engineering.
Professional exposure to UAS, aviation, aerospace, military programs, special projects, or startup is highly desirable.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
