Job Description


The Training Manger will have responsibility for oversight of editorial review and delivery of Tulane University Biocontainment Institute (TUBI) courses. This position requires a high level of collaboration with TUBI divisions to market and develop courses specific to biosafety and the biocontainment research field offered to external applicants and organizations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) and/or Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Experience in developing and implementing training programs.
  • Knowledge of platforms, applications, and software used for developing and publishing materials.
  • Ability to track performance metrics for individual courses, provide comprehensive reports and recommendations for improvements based on participant feedback.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
REQUIRED BACKGROUND CHECK, PHYSICAL, AND DRUG SCREENING FOR INCUMBENTS WHO HAVE CONTACT OR EXPOSURE TO ANIMALS OR ANIMAL TISSUES:

Selected candidates must complete and pass a background check and an occupational health screening as a condition of employment. For identified jobs, a drug screening will also be required. The background investigation required occupational health screening, and any required drug screening will be conducted after a conditional employment offer has been extended.
Required Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor\'s Degree and three years of directly related experience in training development or management using established methods and creative solutions
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master\'s Degree or higher
  • Certified Professional Training Manager (CPTM) or other professional training certificate. If not credentialed, the successful candidate will be required to attain CPTM certification upon evaluation of performance during the new-hire introductory period.
  • Experience in biosafety or life sciences research
