Flexible Schedules $1500 Hiring Bonus for Full-Time and Part-Time positions Full-Time employees are eligible for Benefits Job Purpose: Assist with providing a safe, nurturing environment at the Triage Center for children and teens awaiting placement and assist in facilitating placement decisions, medical exams, and forensic interviews as appropriate. Essential Job Duties (Prioritized): \xc2\xb7 Supervise and care for children awaiting placement or children needing Triage Center services for other reasons. \xc2\xb7 Assist with gathering information to assess the safety and permanency needs of each child and communicate with law enforcement and Child Protective Services personnel regarding information relevant to placement decisions while advocating for the best interests of the child. \xc2\xb7 When appropriate, coordinate medical examinations for all children being placed in care and assist in the coordination of forensic interviews for law enforcement and CPS personnel. \xc2\xb7 Facilitate positive transitions into out-of-home placements. \xc2\xb7 Organize, clean, and assist in the overall day-to-day maintenance of the Triage Center. Other Duties: \xc2\xb7 Complete other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor. \xc2\xb7 Complete training necessary to perform position and necessary for professional growth. \xc2\xb7 Work in partnership with Child Saving Institute, Project Harmony, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, NFC, and law enforcement personnel. Job Requirements: \xc2\xb7 Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in social work or related field preferred. \xc2\xb7 A minimum of one year experience with at-risk families preferred. \xc2\xb7 Knowledge and skills in: o Child welfare issues and services and the processes of advocating for families and children within the system. o The needs of neglected, abused and exploited children; and o Child development \xc2\xb7 Ability to analyze and make recommendations regarding individual and (frequently simultaneously) to analyze and apply larger, systemic issues. \xc2\xb7 Ability to provide on-call coverage in the Triage Center. \xc2\xb7 Ability to make independent decisions and act accordingly or with minimal support from supervisor. Ability to work autonomously and make appropriate decisions in crisis situations. \xc2\xb7 Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. \xc2\xb7 Ability to interact with clients with sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural and socioeconomic characteristics in the service population. \xc2\xb7 Ability to read, analyze and interpret forms, documents, evaluations and procedure manuals. Vehicle Requirements: \xc2\xb7 Own transportation that meets agency vehicle inspection requirements. \xc2\xb7 Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license with no more than 3 points. \xc2\xb7 Proof of insurance that meets agency requirements. \xc2\xb7 Ability to complete a defensive driver course. Environment: \xc2\xb7 Majority of work is at the Triage Center at Project Harmony, with the potential of community or home-based services. Additional work may be performed in a variety of settings to meet department needs. \xc2\xb7 Hours/schedule will vary and will include evening and weekend hours. Physical Requirements: \xc2\xb7 Ability to provide hands-on caregiving to children. \xc2\xb7 Ability to type and perform other office skills.
